It’s time to make a headline of your own and achieve cover story skin from RemedyNow Aesthetics. In Milwaukee, WI, a Chemical Peel treatment can reduce the appearance of acne, scarring, wrinkles, and sun damage. There are three types of major chemical peels based on how deeply they exfoliate the skin. This page is to help you better understand the types of Chemical Peels we offer, the benefits, and if this treatment will work for you.
What are Chemical Peels?
Chemical Peels are a cosmetic treatment that can be applied to the face, hands, and neck, resulting in an improved appearance and feel of the skin. During this procedure, chemical solutions will be applied to the area treated, which causes the skin to exfoliate and eventually peel off. Once this happens, the new skin underneath is often smoother, more radiant, and less damaged. Our peels are used to help improve fine lines, wrinkles, acne, scars, uneven skin color, and other skin imperfections. There are three types of chemical peel, based on how deeply they exfoliate the skin:
- Superficial Peels
- Medium Peels
- Deep Peels
We are also highly specialized in the ZO 3 Peel, a powerfully effective method that is safe and has been demonstrated to have some of the most effective and long-lasting results in the industry. ZO 3 Step Peel is an innovative, in-office treatment peel followed by an at-home treatment to reverse the signs of aging and skin discoloration. It works by utilizing a blend of exfoliants, retinol, and multi-action agents to help improve skin health.
The right choice of Peel depends on a person’s skin, what issue they are looking to resolve, and our direction toward the best results.

What to Expect on the Day of Chemical Peels
We will be highly committed to your comfort on the day of your Chemical Peel at RemedyNow Aesthetics. Our team will be by your side to answer any questions you have every step of the way; the process shouldn’t take long. Most of our patients are amazed by how easy the process of a Chemical Peel can be. Your treatment will be done in-office and start with a cleansing of the face; eye protection like goggles or gauze may be applied. Dr. Siddiqui may numb the treated areas with a topical anesthetic; this allows the process to be as smooth and painless as possible.
Light Peel:
For a Light Chemical Peel, we will use a brush or cotton ball to apply a chemical solution to the treated area. You may feel a slight stinging sensation; this is normal and should subside quickly. Once complete, the chemical solution will be removed, or a neutralizing solution will be added.
Medium Peel:
The process is quite similar to a Medium Peel, which may contain glycolic acid or trichloroacetic acid. When used, the skin will begin to whiten, and we will apply a cool compress to the skin. You may feel stinging or burning for up to 20 minutes. No neutralizing solution is needed with a Medium Peel, though we may give you a hand-held fan to cool your skin.
Deep Peel:
During a deep chemical peel, you most likely will be sedated. Our aesthetician team will use a cotton-tipped applicator to apply phenol to your skin. The procedure will be done in 15-minute portions to limit the skin’s exposure to the acid.
ZO 3-Step Peel:
A ZO 3-Step Peel is a three-step process that will apply a blend of exfoliants, retinol, and multi-action agents. First, a blend of acids is used to remove the outer layer of skin while simultaneously glycerine improves skin hydration. The second stage uses a six-percent retinol cream to stimulate collagen production, trigger cellular renewal, and provide antioxidant benefits. During the final stage, a special calming cream relieves irritation and redness and restores moisture balance. You’re then supplied with an at-home treatment to enhance the results further.
Chemical Peels Recovery
Within the first 24 hours after your Chemical Peel, you may notice that your skin may appear red or swollen. A crust or scab will form to protect the new skin; this is standard for proper peel recovery. Sometimes this is removed through gentle washing with soap and water, followed by the application of ointments, creams, or moisturizers. Usually, if you have had a medium peel, the shedding begins after the first 24 hours. Deeper peels require a longer recovery time.
After three to four days, most of the peeling should be complete, but it may take anywhere from five to seven days before your fresh, new skin has developed. You should require no time off from work or responsibilities after your peel; we just ask that you avoid direct sunlight and follow our custom recovery plan to achieve the most satisfactory results.

Chemical Peels FAQs
Are Chemical Peels painful?
There is no pain associated with a chemical peel of mild strength. There will likely be some tingling or warming sensations during the strong peels, but these will be suppressed by air-cooling mechanisms or cold compresses during the procedure. It is common for your skin to feel sore and tender for several days after the deep peel.
How many appointments will I need?
Appointments will vary based on our patient’s needs. With lighter Light or Medium Peels, it may be beneficial to have consecutive appointments set in the future. We aim to work closely with your schedule needs; an efficient appointment plan customized to your needs will be created by our Patient Coordinator following consultation.
How long until I see results?
Results vary based on the type of peel you receive. Many of our patients begin to see results from their Chemical Peel in as little as a few days; as the former skin sheds, you will see glowing, fresh skin revealed.

Of course! Many of our patients at RemedyNow Aesthetics look to combine procedures to save time and double up on the results. If you’re interested in the combination of procedures, our team is here to answer all your questions and put together the safest, most effective plan for you.
