Introduction to IPL Photofacial

The old saying that “time flies” is one of those sentiments that can be harder and more unexpected than most colloquialisms give it credit. For many people, it feels like just yesterday you were in the prime of your life with a lust for life, beautiful skin, and knees that don’t pop as you stand up… While our team at RemedyNow Aesthetics in Milwaukee, WI unfortunately can’t do anything about the sounds your body makes, we can help you achieve better-looking skin with the IPL Photofacial. This simple and painless treatment can help you look rejuvenated and hopefully give you a little more of an oomph in your step.

What is IPL Photofacial?

Elevating Beauty and Health with Expert Care

Our rejuvenating photofacial is a safe, easy and effective way to reduce the appearance of sun damage on a cellular level. IPL uses only the light absorbed by oxyhemoglobin and melanin to reduce the appearance of sunspots. It also reduces the effects of elastosis while helping capillaries and fine lines disappear, and it targets damaged skin while leaving the surrounding tissues untouched. IPL photofacial and photorejuvenation treatments are incredibly safe procedures that have been proven effective in over 80 different peer-reviewed scientific studies. Our IPL system targets blemishes to make the treatment quick and effective. The change is taking place deep in the skin on a cellular level. You’ll see improvements right away, but the long-lasting true benefits will be seen in a few weeks.

What are the Benefits of IPL Photofacial?

In addition to increasing their appearance and self-confidence, so many of our clients in the Milwaukee area have discovered the following benefits from their IPL Photofacial treatment:

  • Acne
  • Aging skin
  • Skin firmness
  • Pigmented lesions (i.e. freckles, age spots, brown spots)
  • Rosacea
  • Telangiectasia (small red spots on the skin)
  • Uneven skin texture and tone
  • Unwanted hair
  • Vascular lesions

Who are the Best Candidates for IPL Photofacial?

The best candidate for an IPL Photofacial is any adult individual struggling with the following:

  • Acne
  • Age spots
  • Fine lines
  • Injury scars
  • Skin discoloration
  • Wrinkles

Unfortunately, if you are currently dealing with melasma (a skin condition in which patches and spots appear darker than your natural skin tone) we can not recommend this procedure for you as this treatment could worsen that condition. You may also not be a good candidate for IPL if you:

  • Are sensitive to light
  • Are very dark-skinned
  • Have keloid scar tissue
  • Have recently tanned your skin using sunlight, tanning beds, or tanning creams
  • Have severe scarring
  • Might have skin cancer
  • Use a retinoid cream

Hear from 1000+ Patients Transforming their Beauty & Health

  • “Was so pleased with the results”

I visited RemedyNow and Dr. Danish Siddiqui because I was experiencing both stress incontinence when laughing and coughing and urge incontinence when my bladder would spasm when fuller resulting in loss of control and frequent changes of undergarments or having to wear liners constantly. I heard about Emsella through an online personal shopper/blogger, Nichole_Ontrend.

  • “I remember telling Dr. Siddiqui that he saved my life.”

After nearly two decades of caring for women, he realized that many of his patients wanted to look and feel better about themselves through aesthetic services.

With experience in minimally invasive surgeries, including robotic and laparoscopic procedures, Dr. Siddiqui expanded his medical expertise to include extensive training in aesthetic medicine.

  • “I have been impressed by the professionalism”

I have been impressed by the professionalism the team has displayed during my appointments. They explain procedures very clearly and make sure you understand what is going to happen.

What to Expect

What to Expect on the Day of IPL Photofacial

When you come into our office for your IPL Photofacial in Milwaukee, your session will begin with the technician rubbing a gel onto your clean skin. You will also be provided with dark glasses to protect your eyes. Then, we’ll use the handheld IPL device and press it directly onto your skin. The device makes targeted pulses of light which do create a slight sensation. Many of our patients compare the feeling to being popped with a rubber band. If you are sensitive to certain sensations, a numbing cream can be utilized to make your treatment a little more comfortable.
The entire procedure will typically take between 20 and 30 minutes but could take up to an hour in larger areas.

IPL Photofacial Recovery

You will be able to return to your day after the procedure, but you will be encouraged to avoid direct sunlight and wear quality sunblock to have a more effective recovery. It may feel like you have a sunburn the first 4 – 6 hours after you finished, but ice packs or a cool washcloth can help alleviate the sensation. You may appear to be red or bruised for a day or two, but this will go away. If you are treating brown spots, they may get darker but will return to normal within a few weeks.

A few things to keep in mind as you heal:

  • Avoid wearing makeup if your skin still hurts
  • Use moisturizing lotion
  • Wash your face with a cleanser for sensitive skin
  • Wear sunscreen, even if it’s not sunny outside

You will be advised when it’s ok to resume your normal skincare routine, but it’s usually about a week after your session.

How Much Does IPL Photofacial Cost in Milwaukee, WI?

The cost of an IPL Photofacial in Milwaukee will be determined by multiple factors, such as the number of treatments you will need and the area that is being treated. After you meet with your technician and they have a better understanding of what you will require for optimal results, you will be provided with a price breakdown for the entirety of your treatment.
